Children’s Health – How to Grow Healthy Adults with Dr. Michelle Perro
“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” ~Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
By Brigitte Mouchet
Dr. Michelle Perro, MD is a veteran clinician with nearly 40 years of experience in both pediatrics and integrative medicine. Dr. Perro is in the middle of a book tour in the U.S. and abroad for her first book, What’s Making Our Children Sick?, which she co-authored with Vincanne Adams, PhD, professor of medical anthropology at the University of California-San Francisco. I had the opportunity to interview Dr. Perro and chat about this most important topic during one of her stops in California.
Some chronic diseases such as cancer can take decades to develop. But when we realize that 54% of children today suffer from a chronic disease, it’s time to “diagnose” the situation and take action. Many of those chronic diseases are neurocognitive disorders such as ADHD and autism spectrum disorder. However, we are also seeing an exponential increase in the number of children affected by a broad range of health conditions—including obesity, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disease, sleep issues (dyssomnia), and thyroid and growth issues—as well as mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anorexia, and others.
Dr. Perro has identified a lot of potential “villains”: among other things, industrially produced foods, drinking water, plastics, vaccine contaminants, emotional toxins, EMF radiation, and poor indoor air quality (and this is an incomplete list). In her approach to addressing these problems, Dr. Perro chooses to focus on food first because of the important role nutrition plays in our children’s health. Additionally, cultivating a healthy microbiome is a key contributor to helping both children and adults be healthy.
I invite you to listen to my interview with this brilliant and compassionate doctor, who addresses children’s health by working with the whole family, so that everybody gets better. You will be inspired to take action.

You did a marvelous job in this interview. You let Linda Moulton Howe give a very in-depth background of her life and her research. Additionally, in both the interview and in M&M, you voiced strong admiration of her strength of character and her work. But, you injected differing scenarios at just the right time. Not sure I would have hung on after the Forrestal and the preying mantis if you hadn’t spoken up with a different thesis.
It’s not that I haven’t read about lizards, greys, blue chickens, or listened with fascination to Linda Moulton Howe before or experienced weird things, I just thought that a family member describing this could have so many different motivations.
Very nice job of keeping a mysterious and difficult topic on the rails.
P.S. I just read JFK and the Unspeakable…it was interesting that Forrestal’s son was an advisor to JFK. Don’t know what that means if anything…it’s just always crazy how names pop up in different, but yet connected, places."
"Catherine,…..this is a fascinating woman, who has done much to research a taboo subject. I also agree that the government has never told us the truth about much of any of this; and it is up to people like her to go beyond. Having said that, I must comment,… that most of the scientific community is paid on the basis of “proving” everything from global warming to? Of course they can and WILL prove this! They get PAID to PROVE it…. whether or not there is fact attached or not! Did I get this right? Linda is saying that a scientist told her that Raptors and Dinos were test cases by alien societies; and that they were wiped out by meteors and earth changes? Speculation to the max! I cannot be so arrogant that I think that WE are all that there is in the universe. God is absolutely Creative! There are always many answers, but we simply do not know what happened 2 million years ago, and probably will not. Red-headed women used to be put to death at the stake, because they were considered aliens as not many people had red hair. We have come a long way since then. Oh, by the way, I like how you softened the blow about the New York times, but I hope you did not do it on my or the reader below’s account. That rag has not published ANYTHING worth reading in years! Their fake news and politically correct garbage has caused the laying off of many people who started years ago as good, solid journalists. Linda is still to be commended for her work!…Enough said."
